The Ministry of Higher Education ("MOHE") has proposed that MPM to assist Meteor in the administration and execution of the Malaysian Information Technology Professional Examination ("MITPE"). MPM is supportive towards the MITPE programme and this will bring about benefits to the IT professionals in Malaysia.

The MITPE programme will be regarded as a national exam, therefore, the appointment of MPM to assist in the examination administrative and coordination is important to ensure the coordination and its administrative will add to the quality of the examination.

An invitation from the Japanese Information Technology Examination Centre - Information Technology Promotion Agency ("JITEC-IPA") for a study visit on the JITEC Spring Examination Coordination and Administration took place on 17th April 2005. Here, a four member representative from both Meteor Sdn Bhd and Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia attended this study visit in Japan and they are Encik Omar Abu Bakar, Chief Executive Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia; Puan Nor Qaily Sa'ari, System Analyst Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia; Ms Maheswari Kandasamy, Senior Consultant Meteor Sdn Bhd; and Ms Yeong Chooi May, Assistant Manager Meteor Sdn Bhd.

Several meetings between Meteor and MPM have taken place to ensure that both Meteor's and MPM's roles are clearly defined. A list of processes checklist has been prepared by MPM to provide Meteor as a guideline to ensure the examination questions are finalised and must be submitted to MPM by 30 June 2005 for printing. For a start, MITPE will introduce the Fundamental IT Professional Examination in October 2005.
