English for the Hospitality Industry (Tourism, Hotel, Restaurant, etc)
This course integrates the four language skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading
& Writing. It aims to familiarize the students with elements of protocol,
courtesy, etiquette, politeness and cross-cultural diversity.Participants will
also be made aware of the importance of interpersonal skills. Building the confidence
of the participants to interact efficiently and politely in English is a variety
of formal and informal situations is also a prime concern of the course.
Report Writing
This course is designed to give participants sufficient input and practice in
basic report writing so that they would be able to undertake and perform similar
tasks effectively in their workplace. Participants will learn to write various
types of both short and long reports. Special attention is given to the steps
involved in the preparation of a report like planning, gathering, organizing and
presenting of information.
Presentation Skills
Effective presentation skills are essential in the workplace. The ability to
impart ideas and knowledge successfully opens avenues to career advancement.
Effective communicators have an understanding of the principles, process and
practices related to communication. One can be called upon to make a presentation
to a person or to a group of people, but many of the guiding principles will
remain the same. This course will prepare the participants to develop the necessary
presentation skills and confidence for effective public speaking in a variety
of situations.
Interactive English for Business
This course teaches you the language of business. It is designed to help you
develop vocabulary, reading, listening and speaking skills in the context of
real business settings. It further helps you develop critical thinking and presentation
skills. The course is taught in an interactive manner allowing plenty of opportunities
for lively conversations, role-plays and case studies. The broad range of lesson
themes includes business meetings, making presentations, negotiating, marketing,
banking and risk analysis.
English for Business Writing & Presentation
This course is designed to help you develop effective business writing skills.
You will be taught how to write effective business letters, e-mails, memos, and
faxes. In addition to learning the appropriate format and conventions of various
types of business communication, you will learn how to express essential language
functions that provide the basis for written business communication.
Negotiation Skills
Negotiating is the process you follow to get somebody else to do what you want
them to do. That somebody else could be a business partner, a buyer or seller
or your spouse or lawyer. It is the art of making the deal a matter of persuasion
rather than a crude power play. This course will prepare you to develop some of
these skills that will give you confidence in negotiating and since we live in
a global world it will cover negotiating with people of different cultures and
countries.
Corporate Communication
This programme provides specific training of relevant forms and functions one
needs to communicate effectively in business contexts and in your workplace. This
language programme is aimed at improving the oral and written communication skills
in English related to the workplace. A variety of pedagogical activities such
as discussions, oral presentations, mock-up meetings and role-play will be introduced
to maximize class participation. Participants will also be introduced to the appropriate
use of vocabulary and grammar in the context of communication at the workplace.
Creative Thinking
The main aim of the programme is to create awareness amongst Malaysian executives
(senior and junior) of the changing demands on executives in the global world
especially in knowledge creation. The key attitude required in this competitive
global environment is strategic and creative thinking, which Malaysians need
to develop their knowledge and wealth-creating resources for the changing demands
of the twenty-first century.
